As part of the many initiatives marking the UN’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ) between 26 and 31 May, ICTP has partnered with the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), the Trieste International Foundation and many other institutions and companies in Trieste to organize “Quantum Dreams – Research and Entrepreneurship in Quantum Technologies”, a public event that will take place on Saturday 31 May, 2025 at 9:30 in Sala Luttazzi, Porto Vecchio, Trieste.
Bringing together researchers, companies, investors and policy makers, the event will explore how quantum technologies are moving from the lab to real-world applications. Topics will include quantum computing, sensing and communication, with a focus on their potential impact on sectors such as healthcare, industry and cybersecurity. The event will also be an occasion to reflect on Italy’s position in the global quantum landscape and the role of public and private actors in supporting innovation and enterprise in this rapidly evolving field.
Rosario Fazio, ICTP Research Scientist and co-Chair of the IYQ’s steering committee, will take part in a round table also involving speakers from Eniquantic, Obloo Ventures, Quandela, CINECA, Generali, Quantum Telecommunications Italy, INO-CNR, Rotonium and more.
