In Memoriam

ICTP was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and colleague Boris Dubrovin. He made highly original contributions to areas ranging from integrable systems, Frobenius manifolds, Gromov–Witten invariants, singularity theory, isomonodromic deformations, theta functions and nonlinear waves. He closely collaborated with ICTP in several endeavours. He had a formidable command of mathematics both classical and modern, and was a very demanding teacher, but was remarkable for his kindness and courtesy. He will be greatly missed.
