ICTP Simons Associates

The ICTP Simons Associate programme will enable scientists at all stages of their careers, to maintain long term contacts with the stimulating and active scientific environment of the ICTP.

ICTP Simons Associates will visit the ICTP for one to two months per year during the three-year period of their award. They may bring also a PhD or Masters student of their choice for each of the visits.

First year programme: Anatomy and Physiology as applied to Medical Physics Radiobiology Radiation Physics Radiation Dosimetry Physics of Nuclear Medicine Medical Physics Imaging fundamentals Physics of diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (X rays, US, MRI, Hybrid systems) Physics of Radiation Oncology Radiation Protection Information Technology in Medical Physics (330 hours of lessons and 230 hours of guided exercises) Second year programme: Clinical training in radiotherapy, diagnostic and interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and radiation protection (1200 hours) Thesis work (125 hours)

Who can apply

Scientists who hold a PhD and are working in developing countries.

Entitlements

ICTP Simons Associates and their accompanying students are entitled to daily living allowances for the duration of their stay, travel support and medical insurance.
