2027 at ICTP: Conferences, Schools and Workshops Announced

ICTP has released its 2027 calendar of conferences, schools and workshops, offering scientists and mathematicians from all corners of the globe opportunities for international collaborations. The 2027 offerings -- 72 activities taking place throughout the year in Trieste and around the world -- cover all of ICTP's research fields. As always, ICTP charges no fees for its events, and provides some financial assistance to participants from developing countries.

Traditional events, such as the annual Winter College on Optics and the Summer School on Particle Physics, will continue next year. Reflecting the growing importance of AI in research, ICTP will hold a School and Workshop on AI for Emulation, Hybrid and Surrogate Modeling in Science, and an activity titled Rethinking AI: Frugal Intelligence for Global Good Workshop.

Also ongoing is ICTP's longtime cooperation with its UN partner, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to deliver more than a dozen courses related to the peaceful use of atoms, including the Joint ICTP-IAEA School on Nuclear Security, the Nuclear Energy Management School, and several activities related to medical physics.

The ICTP activities provide an international forum of scientific contact for scientists from around the world. Participants gain access to a network of some of the top scientists in their fields, and are exposed to the latest advances and techniques in physics and mathematics. Activity lecturers include a large number of Nobel Laureates and Fields Medallists.
