AI in Scientific Publishing

Artificial intelligence, including tools like ChatGPT, has the potential to dramatically change scientific publishing. The benefits and drawbacks to its use will be explored in an ICTP seminar by Dr. Catherine Goodman, Senior Associate Publisher at the American Chemical Society.

The seminar, titled "AI in Publishing: Navigating the Future of Scholarly Communication", will take place on Monday 10 March at 2pm in ICTP's Luigi Stasi Lecture Hall, and will be  available online as a Zoom meeting via the ICTP Global Science Portal for those who cannot attend the physical event.

All are welcome!

The seminar is co-organised by the ICTP Library and the ICTP Global Science Portal.

Dr. Catherine Goodman has worked in scientific publishing since 2006, including roles as a Senior Editor at Nature Chemical Biology, a Scientific Editor at the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and now Senior Associate Publisher at the American Chemical Society. In her current role, she directly manages Biochemistry and oversees a portfolio of more than 10 journals, including ACS’s flagship physical chemistry, polymer and analytical chemistry titles.
