ICTP will be celebrating the UN's 2019 International Day of Women and Girls in Science with events at ICTP and in downtown Trieste. The International Day, which is officially celebrated on 11 February, puts a spotlight on the challenges that women scientists face and the benefits that equality can bring to everyone. Science and gender equality are both vital for the achievement of the internationally agreed sustainable development goals, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Monday, 11 February, 10:00 to 11:00, Luigi Stasi Seminar Room, ICTP: Secondary-school students from Trieste schools will meet with ICTP scientists and post-docs for an interactive discussion and game related to science career challenges and opportunities.
Monday, 11 February, 10:00 to 11:30, ICTP Reading Room (next to bar), Leonardo Building: The participatory art exhibit introduced at Friday's public event will be completed and assembled. In addition, an exhibit of statistics regarding women in science will be displayed in the stairwell between the ICTP cafeteria and the first floor.
